The State Equity Report Card (SERC) is a web tool developed by the Education Trust that assesses states’ commitment to equitable college opportunity and success for Black and Latino Americans. This tool contains state-level data on who has a college degree, who enrolls in college, and who graduates. SERC can be used to find specific information about a state or compare performance across states. To display this data in an interactive and engaging way, the Education Trust enlisted us to build a new generation of website for a new generation of data tool.
We worked closely with the Education Trust research team to design, build, and deploy a marketing and data report-focused website, centered around a powerful data tool component to engage stakeholders. We developed a "Compare States" experience, which allows users to view their state's Equity Report card, compare results with other states, and discover action items for improving their Equity Report in real-time.
Working closely with the Education Trust team, we utilized data processing and analysis tools to display the large State Equity datasets in unique, interactive, and educational ways.
The State Equity Report Card was developed using our standard, responsive web format, allowing for a seamless experience on any device and screen size.
After analyzing common user patterns and customer workflows for the State Equity Report Card marketing website, we centered our messaging efforts around the Education Trust's partnerships with institutions to deliver growth opportunities in an ongoing way for their leadership, while amplifying all of their existing learning and development initiatives.
